My name is Shala Kerrigan, and I live in Anchorage, Alaska with my wonderful husband Mike Simbeck, two children and two cats.
I started this webpage in 1998 to share some of the beadwork patterns I was making with the people who went to Emily Hackbarth's chat. It's been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and never fails to suprise me how much people seem to like it. I've always been a bit shy about showing off things I'm doing, and having them so well recieved is just wonderful!
I'm also the editor for beadwork at BellaOnline which is just a great site, by women, for women.
I've always believed that a lot of my ideas came from somewhere outside myself, and I have almost a compulsive need to share the things I'm working out and doing and hoping they are helpful for other people, because of that, I started a crafting blog which I talk about my current projects in and occasionally post a crochet pattern or two in.
I bead, write, sew, crossstitch, crochet, knit badly, write bad poetry I try not to inflict on friends, read a lot, love playing in my graphics program to make webgraphics and printables. I've had an interest lately in pixel art and making icons.
I love all sorts of music, I used to think I loved everything but rap and opera but I'm finding music that's putting that to the test as well.
Thank you all for making this page the success it's been.
